AWARD-WINNING PROJECTS

Powers & Company, Inc. has received several prestigious awards by the preservation community:

2010

  • Five buildings in the Urban Outfitters Corporate Campus at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard recently renovated by owner Urban Outfitters, Inc. have received the prestigious 2010 Institute Honor Awards for Architecture from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA).  Powers & Company, Inc. provided historic preservation consultation on the conversion of these five historic buildings into design studios, offices and café and gallery spaces.  Follow this link to the AIA website to learn more about the award

The Jury made these comments about the project: "This is a great example of a reuse project. The industrial buildings were beautifully renovated, resulting in an open, collaborative environment that reflects the image of the company that they portray in their clothing stores. The new design brings out the best of the old, and highlights the historic features in ways that might have been less successful with a more traditional response."
